The wedding of Jamie and Kathryn at South End Caravan Park

04th March 2015
I’ll start with an apology for neglecting this blog for a while, in fact for the majority of last year so I’ll try to do better in 2015!

Last Saturday we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Jamie and Kathryn at St Columba’s Church Walney followed by a reception at South End Caravan Park. It was wet and windy as we arrived on Walney (isn’t it always?) and Kathryn’s parents house was a hive of activity with the girls getting ready and Katie Tweedale putting the finishing touches to Kathryn’s hair.

We then met Jamie and his best man at the church. I think he was starting to get a little nervous as he was waiting inside but outside children from Kathryn’s school were braving the weather to give her a wave when she arrived. Her Mum and the bridesmaids arrived first though ‘chauffer’ driven in a motorhome.

Kathryn and her Dad then arrived in a superb classic Volvo, he gave her a loving glance before she stepped out to the children’s cheers. Quickly into the church and out of the rain, Jamie’s wait was over and the service began.

After the service we decided to take some family photos inside the church as it was still raining outside, the newlyweds were then waved off in the back of the Volvo.

The club at the caravan park had been beautifully set out for the reception but we stopped off for a couple of portraits on the doorstep of Jamie and Kathryn’s house before they made their grand entrance. After speeches from the father of the bride and the bride herself (representing Jamie), the guests settled down to a fantastic buffet. Wayne Farrow was on hand to entertain the guests throughout the afternoon and evening and what a wonderful job he did, at one point we had a bit of a ‘dance off’ going on!

Despite the weather it was a fantastic day from start to finish and we must say thanks for choosing us as your wedding photographers, congratulations and best wishes for your future together.

Photo comment By Darren: D3S Ian, I had the Fuji in the bag but know I can rely on the Nikon. I did use the Fuji for a few shots in the evening just to give it a try though.
